Twelve months of clinical education in a school of medical technology or its equivalent accepted by certification agencies. License, Certification, Registration MT/ CLS/ CLIA-Certified Medical Technologist/ Clinical Lab Scientist through ASCP or NCA or CLIA approved equivalent. Other Requirements Independent judgment and initiative required to schedule, organize, and plan work. Teach medical technology students how to process specimens and answer computer related questions. Responsible for care and accuracy in collection and labeling specimens. Flexibility and adaptability in emergency situations including working additional hours or shifts. Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and alertly for extended periods of time, and under stress, to ensure against errors. Above average manual dexterity. Effective communication skills, use of computer systems, listening, speaking, writing and reading. Knowledge of HIS and LIS. Assorted laboratory analyzers and equipment appropriate to scope of position and dependent upon current technology.
