Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Kassel, Germany Hybrid: 2-3 days in office Role Overview : As a key member of our design team, you will support the development and optimization of aluminum casting components (both raw and machined finished parts, typically turned and milled) , steel bases, and other mechanical components. You will collaborate with other departments and play a critical role in the design, modeling, and assembly creation processes. Key Responsibilities : Support the design department with the optimization of aluminum casting components, steel bases, and other parts. Derive individual part drawings from 3D models. Create assembly models and parts in the form of 3D models (simple to medium complexity) . Perform material entry and management in SAP. Build and manage assembly BOMs (Bill of Materials) in SAP. Independently design components and complete required drawings and assemblies within given frameworks. Cooperate with other departments within the factory to ensure efficient workflow and processes. Required Qualifications : Completed training as a Technical Draftsman or Technical Product Designer. Proficiency in MS Office, CREO, Windchill, and SAP. Strong knowledge of mechanical construction, especially in steel, sheet metal, and cast components. Personal Attributes : Creative and open-minded approach to finding solutions. Structured, goal-oriented, and able to work independently and reliably. Team-oriented with a hands-on mentality. Excellent written and spoken German skills.
