The position is to be filled at IUF as of February 1 st, 2025. We are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate to join our research team for an exciting project focused on understanding the fundamental processes of early human development in induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs) . The project, entitled Whole Genome CRISPR Screening to Identify Determinants of Germ Layer Formation, aims to uncover key regulators of germ layer specification using cutting-edge genomic technologies. The project aims to enhance our understanding of the genetic and molecular mechanisms governing early human development, with potential implications for regenerative medicine and developmental biology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies and contribute to the field of stem cell biology and developmental genetics. Qualifications We seek a highly motivated candidate (f/m/d) with a solid background in cell biology. Expertise in standard molecular biology techniques, cell culture and ex-vivo models is critical. Previous work with genome editing is a plus. The candidate is required to have strong skills in English and German. Motivation to work independently and be responsible for the daily management of his/ her/ their research project in coordination with other members of the group is expected.
