[...] Wellness Counsellor, the NYU Health Center, the Wellness Exchange, and the Moses Center for Student Accessibility to ensure students with diverse abilities and needs have appropriate support and access to local health resources. Supervise the support of students who need
medical assistance and/or counselling in collaboration with the NYU Berlin Wellness Counsellor. Liaise with NYU Berlin academic support staff in enforcing the absence policy. Collaborate with the NYU Berlin Wellness Counsellor and the NYU Student Health Center in providing education about alcohol and substance use, self-and shared care practices, stress-, time-and conflict management, sexual health, Title IX related incident response, etc. Coordinate with NYU Berlin Wellness Counsellor and conduct training for NYU Berlin staff on how to recognize and support a student in crisis and make appropriate referrals. Liaise with NYU Moses Center regarding accommodations for students with disabilities. Safety, Welfare, and Conduct (20) Manage and participate in the on-call rotational telephone resource with student life staff and be available to [...] other NYU Berlin staff in University conduct policy. Other (20) Oversee the Student Life team, providing leadership in developing programs that enhance student engagement, community, and holistic development. Liaise closely, wherever appropriate, with the NYU Global office and particularly the
Assistant Vice President Student Services and Support to ensure the continuous quality improvement of services and compliance with NYU policies and procedures. Coordinate ongoing student evaluation of the non-academic experience and provide opportunities for feedback. Liaise closely with Director of NYU Berlin to coordinate information about on-site student life services and implementation of support to short-term programs. Assist the Site Director in planning the annual student life budget. Manage relationships with local police, health care providers, and other external agencies. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Required Education Successful completion of a Masters degree. Required Experience A minimum of five years relevant experience within student activities, residential education and student life. Evidence of high-quality leadership skills and staff supervision. Experience in designing meaningful, relevant, and accessible programming for diverse student cohorts. Experience in
emergency response. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Fluency in German and English. Excellent intercultural and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population within a multicultural environment. Must possess excellent leadership and conflict resolution skills and the ability to quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations. Nights, weekends, and holiday hours may be required. Limited overnight travel is required. Familiarity with macOS, Microsoft Windows, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office. Required Work Permit A valid work permit for Germany. Preferred Experience, Skills and Abilities Genuine interest in getting to know a very diverse set of international students and faculty every semester.
