YOUR TASKS The professorship is assigned to the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation at the University of Cologne and will focus on the research areas of (inclusive) education and digitization in scholastic and extra-scholastic life contexts for people with physical and motor impairments. In addition to
school education with a focus on children and adolescents with physical disabilities and/or chronic and progressive illnesses (research on teaching and learning) , new developments in the use of digital media and assistive technologies with a focus on physical disability studies should be researched and taught. Participation in the research activities of the department and the faculty as well as in the expansion of the focus area of school, teaching, and
teacher education research is expected. The expansion of international collaborations is desired as well as collaboration with the Helios School Cologne (University School) . Teaching focuses on the special education subject of physical disability studies with consideration of education, support, and rehabilitation in institutions for special and inclusive education. YOUR PROFILE The full professorship is open to scientists with a degree in special education or a comparable degree in rehabilitation science, educational science, or teaching with a close connection to the above-mentioned focus. A research profile with evidence of appropriate publications (including peer-reviewed) and research projects is required. The candidates scientific aptitude is to be demonstrated by the outstanding quality of the doctorate as well as by a positively evaluated (German)
junior professorship, an associate professorship, a (German) habilitation, or achievements equivalent to the habilitation. Experience in the acquisition of third-party funds is expected. Applicants should have several years of practical experience in education, special education, and/or inclusive education.
