Mission A Surveyor in a classification society plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of ships and marine assets. The main responsibilities are aimed at verifying that vessels meet international and classification society standards. Key Accountabilities Survey various types of maritime equipment, heavy machinery, materials, and cargo handling equipment at manufacturers facilities. Conduct surveys and certification in accordance with RINA Classification Rules and/or statutory requirements. Ensure compliance with classification society rules, [...] M. Eng. , or equivalent) in naval architecture, marine, mechanical, electrical engineering, metallurgy, or a similar field. Certification as a welding engineer is considered an advantage. 3 years of professional experience as a class surveyor, owner superintendent, shipyard quality control
inspector, chief engineer on merchant ships, or in another relevant engineering discipline. Experience as a surveyor in a Classification Society is highly valuable and a major advantage. Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment, and safety systems of ships. Fluent in English and German, both spoken and written. Proficient in MS Office and IT-literate. Willing to travel frequently and hold a valid driving license. Physically capable of working in confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, extreme temperatures, and weather conditions, without conditions such as allergies, vertigo, or claustrophobia.
