[...] Program Manager, Student Life (m/f/d) New York University (NYU) Berlin seeks a full-time Program Manager, Student Life, for the Academic Center, Prenzlauer Berg. POSITION SUMMARY The Program Manager, Student Life, supervises the effective, high-quality delivery of all aspects of student
support programs and ensures that students comply with NYU policies, procedures, and expectations. Further, they are expected to collaborate with diverse local communities in designing inclusive learning opportunities for students. They report to the Site Director and liaise closely with appropriate key staff at NYU. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Student Programming Communications (40) Co-design orientation and manage orientation activities. Design and manage student programming, including campus events, site visits, and overnight learning journeys. Serve as a chaperone and designate other NYU Berlin staff to chaperone programs. Manage the implementation of special events that are designed in collaboration with NYU Berlin staff, NYU Global Programs staff, NYU Student Affairs departments (e. g. , Center for Multicultural Education and Programs (CMEP) and LGBTQ+ Center) and the
Office of Global Inclusion (OGI) . In collaboration with the site director, develop partnerships with local communities and organizations to connect learning at NYU Berlin with sustainable, positive change in the city. Develop opportunities for students to reflect on their experience of living and studying at NYU Berlin, particularly their cross-cultural awareness arising from their interaction with the local community. Manage communication to students on all matters related to student services and resources. Supervise the development of volunteering and community service opportunities for students. Liaise with the Wasserman Center for Career Development, NYU Leadership Initiatives, The NYU Center for the Humanities, and other units to design, implement, and evaluate professional/ career development opportunities for students. Support and mentor Student Leaders in [...] Wellness Counsellor, the NYU Health Center, the Wellness Exchange, and the Moses Center for Student Accessibility to ensure students with diverse abilities and needs have appropriate support and access to local health resources. Supervise the support of students who need
medical assistance and/or counselling in collaboration with the NYU Berlin Wellness Counsellor. Liaise with NYU Berlin academic support staff in enforcing the absence policy. Collaborate with the NYU Berlin Wellness Counsellor and the NYU Student Health Center in providing education about alcohol and substance use, self-and shared care practices, stress-, time-and conflict management, sexual health, Title IX related incident response, etc. Coordinate with NYU Berlin Wellness Counsellor and conduct training for NYU Berlin staff on how to recognize and support a student in crisis and make appropriate referrals. Liaise with NYU Moses Center regarding accommodations for students with disabilities. Safety, Welfare, and Conduct (20) Manage and participate in the on-call rotational telephone resource with student life staff and be available to [...] other NYU Berlin staff in University conduct policy. Assistant Vice President Student Services and Support to ensure the continuous quality improvement of services and compliance with NYU policies and procedures. Coordinate ongoing student evaluation of the non-academic experience and provide opportunities for feedback. Liaise closely with Director of NYU Berlin to coordinate information about on-site student life services and implementation of support to short-term programs. Assist the Site Director in planning the annual student life budget. Manage relationships with local police, health care providers, and other external agencies. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Required Education Successful completion of a Masters degree. Required Experience A minimum of five years relevant experience within student activities, residential education and student life. Evidence of high-quality leadership skills and staff supervision.
